The 2-Year $15K award for the 2025-2026  Empowerment Grant from The Provident Bank Foundation will support the Weekend Backpack Program for school age children (3+) who qualify for free school meals and live in historically underserved communities in Somerset County during the 2025-2026 academic school year furthering the Food Bank Network of Somerset County’s mission to erase childhood hunger in Somerset County.

The Weekend Backpack Program ensures that children who rely on school meals don’t go hungry over the weekend. It provides them with food they can carry home on Friday and eat.
